Roswell Riverwalk Trail Connection Phase IV – $2,000,000
Stretching from Wileo Park to Azalea Dr. in Roswell, GA, this was the fifth and final phase of the 7 mile trail system along the Chattahoochee River. Integrated Construction and Nobility, Inc. was tapped to build the final phase, which consisted of nearly a mile of boardwalk along the famous river. A project this massive is no easy task, and the materials you use are just as important as the installation. Since much of the boardwalk was built over standing water, ICAN, Inc. used metal posts for the framing to avoid rot. Southern Yellow Pine that was treated for ground contact was used for the framing and railing to prevent rot due to moisture and insects. For the decking, 6,046 custom 13 ft. Fiberon Composite boards for the boardwalk and 112 custom 20 ft. boards for overlook decking. Composite was an excellent choice for beauty and longevity. So, next time you’re in the Roswell area taking advantage of the Riverwalk, while you’re taking in the scenery be sure to appreciate the ingenuity in this boardwalk’s design.
